Many babies go through this stage and for a time our son did this, too. You can
try to gently hold his hands while soothing him to sleep to see if that works (it
did for us). But, don't be forceful. Your baby can still get the benefit of a
deep, restful sleep by gently placing the Sleepy hat on him after he has fallen
asleep. In many cases, you will be able to prevent immature waking and lengthen
baby's naps by using the Downtime Sleepy hat.

wearing the Sleepy hat?
|
| A. |
While some sweating can be normal, it is most likely that your baby is too warm.
Signs of overheating include redness in the face, baby feeling warm to the touch,
and sweat forming on the face and hair. Remove the Sleepy hat immediately and
check the temperature and humidity of your environment to ensure that it is
comfortable for your baby. In warmer temperatures, you may want to try dressing
baby in just a diaper and the Sleepy hat.

|
| A. |
It sounds like one of two things: either she isn't quite at a point where she
is ready to close her eyes, or she is uncomfortable with the idea of the Sleepy
hat. In the case of the former, flip the mask up and try again further into your
baby's naptime or bedtime routine. If this doesn't solve the problem, use the
Sleepy hat after she has fallen asleep to help her get a deep, restful nap.
